The 2024 GSMI webinar “Navigating the Phd Admissions process as an undocumented student” will be held on September 25th at 5 pm ET. This webinar will be led by Dr. Carolina Valdivia, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at UC Irvine, with affiliations in the Department of Sociology, Department of Chicana/o Studies, the School of Education, and the Center for Population, Inequality, and Policy.
This webinar will address applying to and navigating graduate school as an undocumented student. Topics include: securing financial support, assembling a strong application, finding a mentor, gaining research experience, publishing and balancing responsibilities.
