Internship |
Student Historians are high school-aged interns who use the resources of The New York Historical to conduct in-depth research and share their scholarship through the production of creative digital projects that serve as public educational resources. Interns meet with professional staff to learn about the museum, library, digital humanities, and history fields; and work collaboratively with fellow students to develop their historical thinking, communication, and digital media skills.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
- July 8th-August 14th 2025, meeting every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10 am-4 pm
- Interns receive a $700 stipend after completion
- Takes place in New-York Historical Society
- Involves substantial research and writing using digital humanities and knowledge of American History
The theme of the internship is: Our Composite: Federick Douglass' America
APPLICATION INFORMATION
- High school students (grades 10, 11, 12) in New York City Metro Area
- Interns who quality must have valid employment certificates ( i.e. working papers)
DEADLINE
Applications are due MARCH 30, 2025 AT 11:59 PM. Selected applicants will be invited to a group interview at the end of April.
Final selections are made on May 9, 2025.
