Conferences for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics (CU*iP)

APS CU*iP helps undergraduate women and gender minorities find mentors explore education and career opportunities, and network with diverse individuals and underrepresented identities in physics.

"This conference has invigorated me to move forward in physics with more determination and enthusiasm." — Zhuyun Xiao, former attendee from Bryn Mawr College

APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics (CU*iP), pronounced as "q-ip" or "q-wip," are three-day regional events tailored for undergraduate physics majors. Undergraduate women, gender minorities, and students who may not always see themselves represented in STEM are encouraged to attend. These conferences offer the opportunity to connect with mentors, explore educational and career paths, and network with fellow physics students to share knowledge and experiences.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

These conferences encourage applications from undergraduate physics, engineering, and science majors. We specifically encourage applications from:

- Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a college/university in the U.S.

- Undergraduate students 18 and over

- Women and/or gender minorities

- Black/African American, Latino, and Indigenous students

- Community college students

- First-generation college students

- Undergraduate students who have not attended previously

This year, NYU will be hosting the Conference for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics in January 2025! More information can be found below;
