Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a keen sense of editorial and production processes and will be passionate about optimizing workflows, creatively solving complex issues and contributing to the overall success of the NBCU News Group. Please note that this is a temporary Staff position with an end date of 12/31/2025.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex processes and identify areas for improvement
- Proficient in process mapping and flowcharting techniques to visually represent and analyze workflows
- Familiarity with workflow management software and tools (Visio, Figma, Lucidchart etc.)
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strategic mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast paced environment
- Document As-Is NBCU News Group workflows, and identify ways to standardize processes
- Conduct analysis of As-Is workflows to uncover areas of potential optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new workflows to minimize manual steps and maximize efficiency
- Create detailed To-Be process maps to articulate streamlined workflows and ensure clarity across the NBCU News Group
- Gather and analyze data related to workflow performance, identifying key metrics and areas for improvement
- Utilize data-driven insights to recommend and implement process enhancements
- Research, evaluate and recommend technology solutions to future-proof NBCU News Group workflows
- Develop and maintain documentation for new and improved workflows, ensuring consistency and transparency
- Work with NBCU News Group product, development and engineering teams to integrate technology solutions that enhance workflow automation and efficiency
- Collaborate with operational and editorial stakeholders to understand their workflow needs and pain points
- Proactively identify innovative solutions and opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and systems
- Develop training materials and provide guidance to stakeholders on new and updated workflows
- Offer ongoing support to ensure successful implementation and adoption of process improvements
- Establish and implement quality assurance measures to ensure adherence to standardized workflows
Qualifications Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- 1+ years in either media, sports, or newsroom experience
- 2+ years of product or analysis experience
